Do I need to register for packaging EPR in every EU country I ship to?

Yes, if you are the producer. Article 44 of Regulation (EU) 2025/40 requires registration in each member state where you make packaging available, with no minimum turnover, weight or parcel count. You also need an authorised representative in every member state except the one you are established in, under Article 45(3).

How does Frontdoor mean I do not have to register?

Frontdoor buys each order from the seller and resells it to the EU consumer. Because Frontdoor is then the party first making that packaging available on the EU market, Frontdoor is the producer under Article 3(1)(15) and carries the registrations, reporting and fees. The seller is not the producer and registers nowhere.

What does Frontdoor cost?

A per-order margin of 4% plus a fixed amount between 1 and 4 euro, falling with volume. There is no monthly fee, no per-country charge, and nothing is owed until an order ships. For comparison, registration and representation bought directly costs roughly 299 euro per country per year regardless of volume.

Is Frontdoor trading yet?

No. As at August 2026 the French company is in formation and a legal opinion on the structure is outstanding. The waiting list is free and anyone on it will be told if the opinion concludes the structure does not work.

Registration is required in every member state you sell into, with no minimum size or turnover. The going rate to register and be represented is about €299 per country, per year. Most small sellers have simply switched the EU off.

How it works

Nothing changes for your customer.

You do not re-platform, re-list, or move your stock. Someone buys from your shop exactly as they do today — same listing, same checkout, same price. We buy that order from you and resell it to them; you post it as normal. Because we are the one placing the packaging on the market, we register, report and pay — in every country.

Twenty-seven registers a seller can be asked to join. Under this structure, every one of them is our problem, not yours. We register wherever the parcels of the sellers on this list actually go.

What it costs

You pay when you sell. Not before.

A per-country fee charges a seller with four parcels the same as one with four hundred. That is the thing that broke, so we do not copy it.
